​Former Yei Joint Stars head coach Sony Harriet has joined the newly formed Kator women’s football club.

Harriet, who is also the South Sudan women’s national team assistant coach, joined Kator just days before her former side travel to Tanzania for the CECAFA Women’s Club Championship.

The CECAFA games will also act as CAF Champions League Qualifiers.

It is not clear whether she will drop her ​​other role with the national team.

According to the Kator, Harriet, a two-time cup winning-coach, penned a year-long contract.

The details of the contract are yet to be revealed by the two sides.

The news of her departure now leaves the team in a precarious situation with the club’s assistant coach understood to be in Uganda for a CAF licence course.

Harriet has been out of the team’s activities for the last couple of days, leaving the team in the hands of volunteer coaches
A squad of fewer than 15 players are currently camping in the capital, Juba, ahead of the trip to Dar es Salaam.

With the assistant also away, Yei Joint Stars will have to look elsewhere for a replacement.

Sony Harriet recently completed her CAF C License course in Uganda.
