“We lost a great man,” Futuyo eulogises fallen Yambio commissioner
The Western Equatoria State Governor, Lt. Gen. Alfred Futuyo Karaba, paid a glowing tribute to departed Yambio County commissioner, Hussein Enoka.
Enoka died in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, on Sunday.
Speaking to The City Review, Governor Futuyo’s press secretary, Alex Didi, described the late Enoka as a brilliant leader and a straightforward individual who treats everyone with respect and dignity.
“We learnt of the tragic news of the passing of Hussein Enoka, the commissioner of Yambio County, in Khartoum this morning. He was receiving his medication. He passed away in the hospital at 4 am according to the information,” Didi said.
He revealed that Enoka had spent almost six months under treatment, although he did not mention what had been ailing him.
Didi stated that his demise has saddened the Western Equatoria State government, community, family, and especially the youth who love his leadership.
“We have lost a great man.” The late was a very great man. The man who dedicated his leadership to work for the community is a leader that can appreciate and look at the community as a role model. He never segregated but respected and worked for everybody, whether small or big, since his first election as a Member of Parliament in 2010.”
According to the press secretary, the late official served Western Equatoria State’s administration and citizens in several roles, including being a state legislator at some point.
He said through his humble leadership, that the late Enoka would be remembered for his contribution to the peace and development of South Sudan.
“My condolences to the family, the people of Yambio County, the government of Western Equatoria State and the whole of South Sudan.” May his soul rest in eternal peace. “
Didi said the state government is making arrangements to bring the body to Yambio County for burial.
However, he did not disclose exactly when the body would arrive in Juba from Khartoum
“This afternoon, the state government, headed by Deputy Governor Dr. Kennedy Gaaniko and his family met and formed a committee for the transportation of the body of the late commissioner to the state,” Didi said.
