SPLM office in Torit holds joint mobilisation

Torit Municipal Council and Torit County launched a joint mobilisation and registration of SPLM members on Thursday.
Siro Silvio Ewak, SPLM secretary for information and communication, urged the youth to mobilise colleagues to join the ruling party.
“Our political mobilisation is aimed at recruiting new members with knowledge and spreading peace and unity to the entire community within Torit town,” Savio said.
He stated that peace and unity could only prevail in the town if there was love among the residents at the grass-roots level.
Savio stressed that the mobilisation was meant to create awareness among citizens about the upcoming elections in December 2024.
Since the beginning of the year, the SPLM state secretariat in Eastern Equatoria State has been reorganising all the structures of the party in the counties, Payams, and Boma across the state.
Last year, the ruling party was active with grassroots mobilisation in states such as Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Central Equatoria, and Jonglei states.
This came in the wake of party reorganisation, which saw an increase in the membership of the party’s political bureau. After President Salva Kiir, the party’s chairman made extra appointments to the party’s organ.
