SPLM initiates political club to boost grassroots support

SPLM launched its campaign club in Gumbo-Sherikat on Saturday to boost its membership in the area
Speaking during the launch, the Chairperson of the SPLM Youth League, Daniel Abocha Ali, said the clubs are established to mobilise more members and educate the public on the SPLM vision.
He said the party is committed to the peace agreement and will continue to disseminate messages to the people at all levels.
He appealed to SPLM youth to commit themselves to the dissemination of the teachings on the peace agreement to the people in Sherikat, adding that it is the duty of the SPLM and other parties to the peace agreement to ensure that people understand it.
“As SPLM, we are committed to the peace agreement, and we need all our members to continue disseminating it in all the areas to ensure that people understand and embrace it,” Abocha said.
He stated that the SPLM would continue to provide services to its population because the party has a vision to lead the country.
Abocha added that the SPLM Youth League National Office would remain a major catalyst in mass mobilisation throughout Juba, the states, and the administrative areas as directed by the Chairman of the SPLM, President Salva Kiir.
On his part, Dr. Albino Bol, the national minister of youth and sports who presided over the event, encouraged youth to continue engaging themselves in politics.
He said the youth have the power to bring back peace and development since they make up the majority of the country’s population.
He said the government remains committed to the peace agreement and appealed to the youth to support the peace process.
The minister urged the youth to spread peace through the club to encourage more people to love peace.
Bol stressed that for peace to prevail in the country, everyone needs to take part, especially the youth.
The Club (Gumbo Sherikat) will host residents of Gumbo and Shirikat as well as other nearby areas to actively participate and engage in SPLM party programmes, including peace dissemination.
