Sebit leads El Merriekh to maiden South Sudan National league title

South Sudan’s decorated coach, Ramzi Sebit, led Bentiu’s moneybags, El Merriekh, to their first historic South Sudan National League title.

The Mars fell short of Juba’s second division team, Jamus FC, on penalties in February this year, missing their first-ever National South Sudan Cup (NSSC) under ex-coach, John Kundo.

El Merriekh, who spent a lot of money on player acquisition, re-signed ex-club coach Sebit after they lost out on their first National South Sudan Cup to Jamus.

In addition, recalling ex-Bright Stars Sebit worked for them as the team will be heading to Juba today expecting heroic reception at Juba International Airport.

Three teams competed in the final stage of the South Sudan National League in Western Bahr el Ghazal, Wau that saw El Merriekh become victorious with nine points, topping the table.

Malakia FC of Juba secured the second position with five points, while Salaam FC of Aweil finished in third place with just two points.
