Over 4000 pupils beg in exams in Lakes State

At least 4,960 candidates are sitting for the Certificate of Primary Examination in Lakes State.

Addressing the candidates yesterday, the state minister of general education and instructions, Nelson Makoi Makur, told the pupils that it was an important day in the history of their academics.

“I am sure you have prepared yourself enough to tackle your examinations; our education system is comprised of four systems, and you have spent 8 years from primary one up to primary eight, and today is a final that we are going to evaluate you,” he said.

“The national examination has no difference from the other examinations that you have been doing in the school.”

The minister urged the candidates not to panic but rather to remain calm.

“There has been no cheating since 2021, 2022, up to 2023 this year. We have managed to reduce zero malpractices in the examination,” he remarked.

“If you move from school to school, there is no leakage of examination; even if you move from house to house, there is no leakage of this paper,” Makoi said.

Barnaba Abuod Athian, the state director of examinations, said there are 1,651 female, and 3,309 male candidates sitting for the exams.
