Over 40 arrested in connection with death of 11-yr-old

Police have arrested 46 people in connection with the murder of an 11-year-old girl in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
Akon Thiec’s lifeless body was discovered nearly a kilometer away in the Udhum residential area of NBGS.
According to a post-mortem report, the girl was defiled before being killed, and her body was dumped behind the field compound of a local company.
”The body was brought to Aweil Civil Hospital for postmortem. The result shows that the girl was raped before she was killed,” Aweil’s Police spokesperson Guot Guot.
Two police officers who were guarding the ARC company premises, as well as three women, are among the suspects, according to Guot Guot.
“Police arrested 46 suspects including two police officers who were guarding the facility and three of them are women.”
The City Review understands that the girl had a disagreement with her sibling at home before deciding to walk to Wedwil.
She did not, however, arrive at her destination.
“My child left the house on Sunday after she had a little misunderstanding with her brother. Unfortunately, she didn’t reach her destination,” said Abuoc, the girl’s mother.
