One person killed, seven others abducted in Uror County

A person got killed while seven others were abducted in a road ambush that occurred in Uror County, Jonglei State, yesterday.
Uror County Commissioner, Machot Gatluak, said the abductees, among them three children and four women, were ambushed between Gatwel and Wunbil at 3 p.m.
“In another incident at 10 pm, criminals also attacked Matot and killed one person and raided more than 200 herds of cattle,” Machot said.
Machot said the suspects came from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area and urged the administration to trace the criminals and have them prosecuted.
“They first took six old women and later left them. “[They] have confirmed that those abductors are from GPAA,” Machot added.
He said the area youth are still pursuing the abductors, adding that their footprints can be traced toward GPAA.
GPAA information minister, Abraham Kalang Jiji, dismissed the accusation saying the area youth have nothing to do with such kinds of crimes.
“It is not true, our youth are currently in GPAA, and we are currently still fighting in Gumuruk County of GPAA, the youth from Lou Nuer attacked parts GPAA,” he alleged.
Authorities reported the deaths of 56 people and the injuries of 17 others on Tuesday after armed criminals from Jonglei attacked the GPAA’s Gumuruk County.
