NEC set date for Primary 8 examination

​The 2022 Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) will kick off on February 13, South Sudan National Examination Council (NEC) has announced.

Over 60, 000 candidates are expected to write the five papers with mathematics being the last to be taken.

Of the 60,714 registered candidates, 34,505 are boys while 26, 209 are girls.

The exams will begin with religious education (CRE/IRE) followed by science, English, social studies and maths between February 14 and 17 in that order.

“The examination will begin on Monday, February 13th and will conclude on Friday, February 17, 2023,” Awut Deng Acuil, Minister of General Education and Instruction said.

The minister says that regardless of the insecurity and the effect of the flood across the country, the government is committed to ensuring that the registered learners get their exams as planned.

She added that the NEC has put everything in order to make the process occur as planned.
