Klopp announces Liverpool exit

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp issued a surprise message to Liverpool fans that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

In a short video clip shared on one of the Liverpool’s Facebook pages, Klopp said this will be his last season with the club, as he plans to depart at the end of the season.

“I will leave the club at the end of this season,” Klopp said.

“I can understand it’s a shock for a lot of people in this moment when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it, or at least try to explain it.”

The manager continued, “I love absolutely everything about this club; I love everything about the city; I love everything about our supporters; I love the staff; I love everything, but I still take this decision.”

It was not clear why he decided to leave the club, although he expressed that he felt that he was running out of energy.

“It shows you that I’m convinced it’s the one I have to take. How can I say this? I’m running out of energy. I have no problem now; obviously, I think I know it already for longer.”

“I will have to announce that at one point, but I also know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again. And the least thing I owe you is the truth,” the Liverpool manager concluded.
