Jamus FC to face El Merriekh FC in SSCUP final

Juba’s giants Jamus FC will face off with El Merriekh FC of Bentiu in the National South Sudan Cup final after demolishing Wanding FC of Nasir 6-0 on aggregate in the two-leg semifinals played at Buluk Playground.

Jamus beat Wanding 3-0 in their second leg following their first leg 4-0 win, making the aggregate 7-0.

Coach John Alier’s team will now get ready to play El Merriekh, a well-organized Bentiu team and a favourite in the South Sudan Cup final.

The two sides will be vying for their first National South Sudan trophy during their Sunday match.

El Merriekh beat Jamus FC in their group B final, and that will be the right time for the Juba champion to take revenge, but how they manage that will be decided on the pitch.

El Merriekh, who reached the final after knocking out Rumbek side Gonzaga FC on Wednesday, is the first club from Bentiu Local Football Association to reach the National SSCUP since the country’s independence.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga FC of Rumbek and Wanding FC of Nasir will face each other on Saturday in a battle for the third position.
