Germany stuns USA to join Serbia in FIBA World Cup final
Germany routed the five times FIBA Basketball World Cup gold medallist United States to join Serbia in a duel for the title on September 10, 2023.
Team USA, the tournament’s highest-ranked team, was defeated 113-111 by Germany, therefore ruining their hopes of competing in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Serbia advanced to their second-ever FIBA World Cup final Wednesday, defeating Canada 95-86 in Manila.
The two will compete for the gold medal as the United States and Canada compete for third and fourth place, respectively.
Stars Bogdan Bogdanovic led the way with 23 points, his sixth game in a row with at least 15 points, and Nikola Milutinovic had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Serbia last reached the final in 2014.
