Senior Presidential Adviser, Kuol Manyang Juk, has urged the new minister of finance, Dier Tong Ngor, Ngor to correct the mistakes committed by his predecessors.

“South Sudanese Pound must restore its confidence as it was in the past.” I always tell people that a person who does not pay cash to the government is useless,” Kuol said.

“A policeman who guards the citizens at night, if the ministry of finance does not release the money, what will he be paid for his work?” he added.

Kuol was speaking during the swearing-in of the finance minister, Dier Tong Ngor last Friday.

“When citizens go to the ministry of finance to conduct their financial transactions, senior officials in the ministry of finance ask for 10% don’t accept that,” he added.

The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr Elia Lomuro, hailed Dier Tong Ngor for his appointment, saying he is one of the experts in the country.

“I know you very well. You can say no to bad things.” You have experienced being a minister of finance before, and it has happened now. “

“Work for the president, not with the president. You are responsible for the national revenue authority and the central bank, and if anything goes wrong in the ministry of finance, you are responsible. “

Ngor was appointed to take over from Agak Achuil Lual who was relieved on Thursday.
