Finance ministry to clear off civil servants salary arrears, this month

Civil servants will be paid their two monthly arrears by the end of the month, the Ministry of Finance and Planning has said.
Angelo Deng Rehan, Undersecretary Ministry of finance, said the government plans to start paying workers in time.
“Within this week, (this month), we will be able to clear the remaining two months of civil servants’ salary arrears,” Rehan said on Monday, July 25.
He was speaking during a five-day NRA Change Management Workshop that is going on in Juba.
He further challenged National Revenue Authority (NRA) to increase its collection targets, adding that anything above 10 billion SSP, per month, will enable the government to run its operations.
“Our wage bill is roughly SSP 8 billion.
“If the country manages to collect SSP 10 billion monthly from non-oil revenue, we will be able to secure payment of salaries, which will happen monthly without delays,” he added.
