ECSS eyes youth conference in Yambio

The Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Western Equatoria internal province, in partnership with Central Equatoria internal province, is planning to hold a youth conference in Yambio.

The conference is targeting 5,000 youth as part of the peacebuilding in the two states. A number of youth have also been invited to the neighbouring   Democratic Republic of Congo

Speaking to The City Review, the pastor of the Western region, Rev. Isaac Ephraim, said there is a need for peacebuilding after the conflict in the western part of the Western Equatoria State.

He said the area had witnessed serious conflicts that needed reconciliation and to capacitate the youth on how they could contribute to peacebuilding in the country.

“We are organizing a peace event involving training, sports competitions, and other ceremonies to take place from September 24 to October 1, 2023,” he said.

Pastor Isaac added that the six Archdeaconry of Ezo Central,  Source Yubu, Tambura, Naandi, Bafuka  Cathedral shall all be participating in the event.

He called on the youth across the country to embrace peace and stop the conflict.

WEIP Archbishop Samuel Enosa Peni and CEIP’s Archbishop Paul Yugusuk will preside over the occasion.
