Kenya’s Parliament delivered an impressive performance on the final day of the East Africa Community Inter-Parliamentary Games, winning all of the matches in which they competed on Wednesday.

The Kenya legislatures had a busy final day with three fixtures – football and volleyball (men); and basketball women on the card.

In football, Kenya condemned Burundian to a 3-0 defeat.

Former investigative journalist cum lawmaker – Mohamed Ali broke the ice for Kenya after just 20 minutes of play.

Kenyan volleyball players in green jerseys compete against Rwanda at Juba’s Nimra Talata Court.

Ali took advantage of a school-boy mistake by the Burundian goalkeeper following a defensive mix-up to slot home from close range.

Hon Alfred Kisembe doubled Kenya’s lead minutes before the breather as Burundi crumbled under pressure from a well-oiled Kenyan side.

Kisembe finished off his brace after the break with a sublime finish, a goal that won him game-player of the match.

Elsewhere, Team Kenya defeated Rwanda 3-0 in men’s volleyball on the Nimra Talata Court.

Their victory propelled them to the top of the standings ahead of the final match against Uganda – a decisive game that will determine the regional winner.

The Kenyan woman copied the performance of their male counterpart by defeating Tanzania 32-20 in basketball.
