Bright Starlets hammer Yei Joint Stars 4-0 in friendly

JUBA – Bright Starlets Yei Joint Stars 4-0 in a friendly match played in Juba yesterday. The South Sudan Football Association posted the results of the match on its Twitter handle and went on to reveal that the friendly was to sharpen both teams for the upcoming regional tournaments.

‘‘The Women’s Senior National team continues its preps for the coming Cosafa championship with a friendly match this morning against Yei Joint Stars, which is also in preparation for Cecafa regional championships, due to begin next week,’’ the SSFA stated on Thursday afternoon.

“The women football teams will be busy these coming days with Yei Joint Stars FC traveling to Kenya on 24.08.2021 for Women Club Championship Competition,” SSFA Deputy Secretary Joseph Archangelo Apai revealed to the City Review on Wednesday

Besides this, the Bright Starlets are preparing for the COSAFA Women Champions in South Africa. The tournament will be held in mid-September.

South Sudan plays Botswana on September 15, 2021, before playing against Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Holders, South Africa, will be playing Malawi, Mozambique, and Angola while neighbors Uganda will come up against Eswatini, Namibia, and Zambia.
