Atlabara Football Club will next month receive sports kits to make it more competitive than ever before at both national and international sport arenas.
The club recently secured a deal with Fodox, a Germany-based sports equipment providers in Europe, to supply it with football kits capable of competing in the modern sports.
The two years’ agreement also placed Atlabara FC as the authorized dealers in various Fodox’s sport kits for different kinds of sport in South Sudan for other clubs to access.
George Luwate Alfr Atlabara Foodball Club Deputy Chairperson, told the media during the launch of the new kits on Wednesday that the deal marked the onset of transformation of the Club and South Sudan’s sports at large.
“It’s one of those said milestones towards such a thing in this Club of Altlabara. It’s a kind of motivation and artistic for the better thing to come. This will go along with equipping the football club, making things competitive, look smart and change players’ psychology and this will play a very good part in modern sport,” said Luwate.
In September, the club will receive various sport equipment including T-shits, shoes, ball, not only for football but for all other kinds of sports including volleyball and basketball.
“Whoever is in need of these kits, especially our sister clubs can come to us because we are the official representative of Fodos in South Sudan and shall provide them,” Luwate encouraged other Clubs in the country.
“This is going to help us link with other professional clubs in Europe and also help us in training youth to become professionals in sports in the region,” said Samuel Kabi Simon, Secretary General of Atlabara Football club.
According to Kabi, Fodox representative will arrive Juba immediately after improvement of COVID-19 pandemic situation for further agreement to develop the club to the fullest level in South Sudan.
To better strengthen the club and make it more competitive, Atlabara secured Kenyan goalkeeper Lucas Indeche earlier this year, and the shot-stopper has enjoyed his stay at the club so far.
Arriving from the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), the custodian signed a two-year contract keeping him at the until 2022.
“My move to South Sudan was exciting and scary at the same time because it was the first time I was going to play outside Kenya,” Indeche told Goal.
“Initially I did not know what to expect considering I was not with my family and friends. However, I was welcomed well and settled fast. It is a move I wanted; far from distractions to bring my career back on track.”
