Athletic Association open office in Torit

The South Sudan Athletic Association (SSAA) on Sunday formed its state office in Torit.
The body, which is known as the Eastern Equatoria State Athletic Association, will be chaired by Semira Ayen Louis and Primo Silvia Oduna as the deputy.
The association is responsible for organising and managing the athletics activities in the state.
The association’s Secretary-General, Marko Lokol, said the nomination of the executive body was done in a transparent manner.
“It was witnessed by all the representatives from the eight counties, and all people were very much happy with the new leadership,” he said.
“We really want it to promote the local talents as it is the first time that it is actually happening in Torit.”
Semira hailed the National Athletics Association for forming the state office.
She called on the entire population of the state to support them in bringing out the hidden talents.
Also, she appealed to the state authorities and well-wishers to stand with the new athletics’ executive body to enable them to deliver on the citizens’ expectations.
“I want to thank the South Sudan Athletic in collaboration with the state ministry of culture, youth and sport for coming up with this initiative,” she stressed.
“We really want to lift the state up and we in Eastern Equatoria State normally want to be the first people nationwide in any activity that is actually done, like in 2020, we brought the trophy,” Ms. Semira said.
She called on her colleagues to promote the spirit of unity to simplify their work.
Semira stressed the importance of sports in promoting unity among citizens, saying there is no society without sports.
